The particularly early occurence of the name, the wide propagation, in spite of his characteristic, demonstrate that the research about this gender is especially commendable. It is hardly to be supposed that the name Medicus has originated at several places at the same time, just as the German name for it (physician, Arzet). The Latin name, likewise the German, are too peculiary for it. As a result of that is also to be supposed with considerable security that - the case of a later humanistic coating in Latin garment provided - also a family provable only in the 16th or 17th century of this name is connected to the older bearers. With the councillor Bertholdus Medici it is found out already in 1336 in a document that the names Medicus (Medici) and doctor (Arzet) are used for the same person or limbs of the same family beside each other. To think from the writing kind Medici also more often to be found of Roman descent, is ventured more than. (Extract from Heraldic Sheets, Part II, 1905, page 53ff)

As far as the springs of the heraldic sheets, written in 1905 from Prof. Leopold Oelenheinz. These sheets are overtaken in this respect when between 1995 and 1999 Dr. Reinhard Medicus from Salzburg has resumed the researches. He sighted and checked the amassed documents,  summarised it and added names of emigrants, in particular to the USA. Moreover he established personal contact with German Medicus descendants in the USA. The result are extensive family tree representations in graphic, and with it more clear, form. - Now these researches are to be continued.
As far as the springs of the heraldic sheets, written in 1905 from Prof. Leopold Oelenheinz. These sheets are overtaken in this respect when between 1995 and 1999 Dr. Reinhard Medicus from Salzburg has resumed the researches.
