Excluding the early occurence of the name, the wide propagation in spite of his characteristic demonstrate the research about this gender especially commendable. It is hardly to be supposed that the name Medicus has originated at several places at the same time, just as the German name for it (doctor, Arzet). Latin like the German name are too peculiar in addition. As a result of that is also to be supposed with considerable security that - the case of a later humanistic coating in Latin garment provided - also a family provable only in the 16th or 17th century of this name hangs together with the older bearers.
